Steve Parr focuses on personal estate planning and business law, including:

  • Wills and living and testamentary trust drafting, powers of attorney, representation agreements, alter ego and joint partner trusts;
  • Corporate (secondary) wills;
  • Small market M&A transactions;
  • Corporate reorganizations including estate freezes, discretionary family trusts, rollovers and under sections 51/85/86 of the Income Tax Act;
  • Professional incorporations of B.C. medical doctors, lawyers, dentists, realtors and various healthcare professionals

Steve also advises executors, administrators, trustees and beneficiaries on estate and trust administration matters and regularly prepares estate grant applications (grants of probate and grants of administration).

An entrepreneur at heart, Steve founded and sold a vacation rental company before establishing Parr Business Law in 2017, giving him unique insight into the entrepreneurial journey. Steve received his law degree from the University of Victoria in 2014 and also holds an B.A. in Gender Studies.

Steve was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2015. He serves as a Director of the B.C. Small Firm and Solo Practitioner Society.

Steve is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) Affiliate member and a member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization Accelerator.
